SPECIAL BRUSH PICK-UP STARTING JULY 31

The Elk Rapids Department of Public Works will be conducting a SPECIAL BRUSH PICK-UP starting July 31, 2023 in anticipation of Harbor Days. Regular brush pick-up will resume the first Monday of August as scheduled.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE – PROPOSED ORDINANCE 2023-08

The Village of Elk Rapids Village Council will hold a public hearing at their regular meeting on Tuesday August 15, 2023, at the Governmental Center, 315 Bridge Street, at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider and receive community input on:

1. Proposed Ordinance 2023-08: Purchasing & Contracts – Amendment to §2-440 – 441 of the Code of Ordinances.

The proposed ordinance can be found on the Village’s website, elkrapids.org or a copy can be viewed during normal business hours at the Government Center.

Community members are invited to attend this hearing to speak either pro or con on this matter. Written comments can be directed to the Village of Elk Rapids, 315 Bridge Street, P.O. Box 398, Elk Rapids, MI 49629.

OFFICE CLOSED TUESDAY JULY 4, 2023

The Elk Rapids Government Center will be closed Tuesday July 4, 2023 in observance of Independence Day. Regular hours will resume on Wednesday July 5, 2023. The Village is wishing all a happy and safe Fourth of July celebration.

VILLAGE OFFICE CLOSED FROM 12-1 PM ON JUNE 28, 2023

The Village office will be closed for one hour starting at noon and until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 28, 2023 for a staff lunch hosted by former interim manager Richard I. Lewis. Regular service will resume at 1:00 p.m.

BRIDGE STREET HOUSING PROJECT PROPOSAL REVIEW AGENDA FOR JUNE 28, 2023

2023-2024 COMPACTOR PASS INFORMATION

The 2023-2024 compactor pass is enclosed with your 2023 tax bill. You will receive a new pass each year.  This year the pass is a NEON GREEN. The plastic cover is available for you to pick up either at the Village offices or at the compactor. Feel free to stop by either location after July 8th.

BID OPPORTUNITY: HARBOR ENGINEERING PROJECT

The Village of Elk Rapids invites multi-disciplinary teams to submit proposals to provide professional design, engineering, and project management services for the Edward C. Grace Memorial Harbor Redevelopment Project. Proposals should demonstrate a clear understanding of the project and provide a summary of the team’s qualifications, structure, as well as proposed deliverables. Proposals should also be responsive to the items presented in the RFP but can be enhanced where doing so benefits the project. Three (3) hard copies and one digital copy of the proposal are due by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Respondents must offer a proposal that will meet the scope of services, requests and general description of work activities identified in this RFP, while adding what the Respondent would have to offer.

BRIDGE STREET HOUSING PROJECT PROPOSAL REVIEWS – JUNE 28, 2023

The Bridge Street Housing Project Review Team will be holding two review sessions on June 28, 2023, at the Elk Rapids Government Center. At 3:00 p.m. the team will host Homestretch to go over their proposal, and at 4:00 the Revonare proposal will be reviewed. These informational sessions will give the team an opportunity to go over the proposals and ask clarifying questions. No decisions on how to move forward will happen at these sessions. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
