The Village of Elk Rapids is seeking diverse and dedicated individuals to help our community make decisions for a viable future. The village currently has vacancies on the following Boards & Commissions:
- Beautification Commission (application due Wednesday September 7th): Recommend budget for care and beautification of public spaces, policies for operation of a beautification program, and a long-term beautification plan to the village council. Promote activities that will benefit the beautification program of the village.
- Downtown Development Authority (application due Wednesday September 7th): Analyze impact of economic changes in DDA districts, develop plans to promote orderly economic growth, and to provide support to DDA districts (including Downtown, 31-Corridor, Ames Street, Industrial Park).
- Parks & Recreation Commission (application due Wednesday August 31st): Recommend infrastructure changes and recreation opportunities to the village council, create and implement five-year community recreation plan, promote parks and recreational opportunities, budget for parks & recreational activities.
Applications are available on the document center on www.elkrapids.org or at the Government Center. Completed applications should be submitted to kszczypka@elkrapids.org. Applications are due on the dates noted above so the village president can consider nominees who must be approved by council.
