PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: PROPOSED ORDINANCE 2022-09

The Village of Elk Rapids Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at their regular meeting on Tuesday November 22, 2022, at the Governmental Center, 315 Bridge Street, at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider and receive citizen input on, the proposed general code ordinance amendment 2022-09: CHAPTER 13 – SHORT-TERM RENTAL BUSINESS, SECTION 4.D REGISTRATION PROCESS AND PROCEDURE.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE 2022-09

The Village of Elk Rapids ordains to amend CHAPTER 13 – SHORT-TERM RENTAL BUSINESS, SECTION 4.D REGISTRATION PROCESS AND PROCEDURE for the purpose of detailing the requirements of the transfer of license for current short-term rental business homes within the Village of Elk Rapids to promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of the community.  The proposed amendment would eliminate the ability to transfer a short-term rental business license upon the change of ownership of a current short-term rental business.

The proposed ordinance can be found on the Village’s website, elkrapids.org or copies can be picked up during normal business hours at the Government Center. Citizens are invited to attend this hearing to speak either pro or con on this matter. Written comments can be directed to the Village of Elk Rapids, 315 Bridge Street, P.O. Box 398, Elk Rapids, MI 49629, no later than 3 PM on November 22nd.
